Teenage Dream

Apparently I only bother posting anymore when I have Darren-related dreams. Which is valid. In any case, in my dream last night, I was working at/volunteering at a resort by a nice lake with some beaches. One of my duties as a volunteer was helping to get things set up for a small concert Darren was having. It was just him, a keyboard player, and another guitarist. After helping the keyboardist find the right key for the song (can't remember what song... nothing I associate with Darren normally), he turned his attention to the audience. I was already standing off to the side sort of swaying like a moron (along with some other folks from the audience), and he seemed pretty happy that everybody was getting into it already. He actually stopped to dance briefly with me and a couple of the other girls. And, yes, that's really all there was to the dream. It was brief, not terribly exciting, and left me assured that today will be a good day because in my dream? Darren Criss held onto my hips. What else does a girl really need?

Cuddling

I wish I could remember most of the dream, but the highlight? Sitting and watching a concert (it was like preschool - everyone was sitting on the floor in front of the stage) and cuddling with Darren Criss. No clue why it was happening, no clue why I was so sure Wes wouldn't mind, but it was a hell of a lot of fun. And, really, if I'm only going to remember one thing about a dream, that's the thing to remember.

Teenage Dream

Obviously I've been having trouble remembering a lot of dreams clearly lately, but last night, I got lucky.

I'm not sure if it was discussing my celebrity list over dinner or having a Glee marathon with my sister (culminating in "Never Been Kissed" just before bed), but despite being a short dream, last night's was definitely a good one. My sister and husband and I were on vacation in New York staying in a nice hotel. No idea why we were there or what was up, but they said they had a surprise for me... and in walks Darren Criss. The picture left is the one that set off my mental image for the dream: glasses, scarf (gray scarf with a green jacket in my dream, if it matters to you), winter coat. And for some reason I had absolutely no qualms about walking straight up and hugging him.

I'd love to say there was fascinating, interesting stuff that happened after, but Pike woke up, and mommy action trumped sleeping. Still, it was sweet and cute and nice. I'll take it!

Twisted Plots

Deadeye, originally uploaded by KID DEUCE.

It seems that my dreams have all become random horror movies with celebrity casting. Last night was one of those strange dreams where I feel like I'm watching and acting out one of the roles at the same time. This time around, my "character" was visually portrayed by Kate McGrath from Merlin. Not too shabby, right?

A lot of the plot detail was lost on me, but I (I'll refer to the main char as me since I was her most of the time... if that makes any sense whatsoever) was staying in this weird little town somewhere with my family. I can't remember if we'd won the vacation or what, but slowly we began to realize that the whole place was messed up. Odd things would happen and either no one would listen or they'd ignore it. Everything in town seemed to revolve around us - normal conversation totally changing if we entered a room, people behaving strangely.

There was one guy (played by Russel Crowe) who kept acting like he was going to tell us what was going on and never doing it. At some point, I gave up after a particular weird interlude involving a guy who dressed himself up in, like, a suit of stuffed animals and chased people around a cave including my sister. I went to the bar and met a guy who actually seemed nice (played by Stephen "Twitch" Boss). He was a forest ranger from a national park nearby, but before I could tell him everything that had been going on, he had to leave.

We eventually found out that the whole town was run by this weird guy who pretended to be a rock star but was in reality a monster or alien or something. Somehow we got out, and we were all hurrying to get to my wedding (oddly never did see my fiance). While we were getting the venue (some sort of community event building) ready, the forest ranger showed up and said he had something to show me. I asked why he was there, but we were already into the other room, and he pointed to the TV screen. It was a video of one of the people from the town with my sister.

I never did figure out what was going down or how it turned out. I'm hoping that the Russel Crowe dude decided he was on our side and saved my sister while I rode off into the sunset with the cute ranger, personally ;)

Winding Roads and Glam

Adam Lambert, originally uploaded by Norman Petrache.

My dream last night was a bizarre mix of the shows I'd been watching, the music I'd been listening to, and the stories I'd been reading.

It opened much like watching a movie. I can't remember the exact back story, but the main dude somehow wronged these other guys when he was a kid. There were four other kids - one the leader and three others that were hurt or whatever by what he did. Again, can't remember what in the world it was.

Then we cut to him grown up. Somehow the leader of the wronged group is out of the sanitarium or whatnot, and he's after the guy. The guy knows it and runs. Now I'm a part of the action and Otis (one of our dogs) and I are at his friend's house trying to help him plan a way to get out of it. We realize that the guy will be sending his lackeys in a particular order based on when/how they were hurt when they were kids. We all decide to go our separate ways and try to find help or something.

I take Otis and end up going to a small town grocery store to get some supplies. The place is super grungey and they're cleaning out a freezer stocked with meat that had gone bad because the freezer failed. Somehow I realize I'd been drinking beer (which I don't even drink) while driving and ditch it in their garbage can so no one knows.

We head back out on the road and then I get fuzzy on the order of events. The guy's girlfriend disappears, so we all go back to meet at the friend's house. When I get there, the place is pretty much empty like he packed up and lit out even though he was supposed to be there waiting for us. I get a little edgy and go back to the car.

At some point not long after (things get a bit muddled at this point), Adam Lambert shows up. Yeah, I know. I don't know why. But I'm not complaining. We find the girlfriend at some point, and she ends up getting a total crush on Adam. Apparently she's the only person in the world who doesn't realize he's gay and sort of throws herself at him. He's totally nice about it but, naturally, kinda blows her off as much as possible. We're all still trying to fix everything and save the dude and... then the alarm went off. I'm kinda bummed I didn't get to see what happened because I fell SURE that Adam would have used some sort of glam awesomeness to save us all.

The Best of Times and the...

Ewan McGregor, originally uploaded by Uncinefilo.

I've been having a lot of nightmares lately dealing with family drama. It's nothing all that deep. I know precisely what it means, it's not that interesting, so I've been sparing everyone.

Before the nightmares set in last night, though, I was treated to something I haven't had in awhile - a cameo from my dream husband. I don't mean dream husband in the sense of him being my ideal, exactly, just that Ewan's my go to sexy dude in dreams. I mean, look at him. Not hard to figure out why ;)

I wish I could remember the plot (something complex involving sci fi stuff and clones and whatnot), but the good part? I had my very own Ewan, and I got to have a lot of fun with him. Not as much as I would have liked (stupid dreams changing on me right in the middle!), but it was enough to take the sting out of the second half of the night, believe you me.

Dates, Weddings & Dark Plots

05/10/2009 11:27, originally uploaded by alun.vega.

Last night's dream was a bit overly convoluted. It began with me and several other girls being kidnapped by a strange woman. She was heavy set and had long, dark curly hair. We were pretty sure we were going to get killed, but instead she had these odd scenarios we were all supposed to play out. The first girl was dressed up and thrown into a wedding while the rest of us stood in as her bridesmaids. No one else at the ceremony seemed to know what was going on or that anything was amiss, the groom included.

Once that was over and she went off with her new husband, I came up next in line. The woman took me aside and told me I had a date to get to. She gave me a different pair of pants to change into and a jacket. I was nervous and still sort of scared and had absolutely no idea what was going on. My mystery date turned out to be Matt Smith. Well, not exactly, but the dude looked very much like him. Again, he seemed to think nothing of the fact that I'd been abducted to go on the date and for some reason I didn't mention it.

We chatted, had a really normal date. He was born in England but had moved to the States as a kid and blah blah blah... all super normal. When I got home, I was informed by the woman that we would be going out again. What followed was a courtship that was actually pretty pleasant despite the fact that the woman was orchestrating the whole thing. I kept overhearing her talk to her butler/henchman/whatever about how things were "supposed to be" for all of the girls she had taken. Ultimately I got engaged to the guy, but the woman was very adamant that we do things "properly" so there was no hanky panky before marriage. Talk about your buzzkills...

Anyway, he got mugged or something at some point, so I invited him to stay at the house with me so he wasn't alone. I had to get permission from the woman and promise that nothing untoward would happen. A few days before the wedding, I overheard the woman talking to her henchman again about my guy apparently being supposed to die. From what she said, I got the impression that she'd seen it all unfold, and instead of trying to prevent it, she was trying to force it all to happen the way it had before.

Naturally I wasn't really thrilled with that idea and was trying to prevent it. I don't remember how it all went down, but one of the other girls who was trying to go against it all and I got picked up by two thugs working for the woman. They explained to us that things had to be the way they were, and they tortured the first girl while I was there as a form of motivation for me to promise to play nice, I guess.

Unfortunately I woke up before the thrilling conclusion, so even I don't know what the deep dark plot was or what happened to my pretty fake fiance. Bummer.

Malls and Genetic Alterations

Psychic & Crystal, originally uploaded by FotoEdge.

My dream last night took a lot of strange turns, and I wish I could remember it more clearly. I think I could get at least a couple NaNoWriMo books out of it if I could.

It began in a mall. I was talking to someone about the fancy spas nearby and checking out the prices through their window. An older man overheard and chimed into the conversation. It turned out that he was an older actor from General Hospital who I recognized. It's been too long since I watched the show for me to place him at once. To be respectful, I didn't point out that I recognized him (I knew precisely who he was in the dream) and instead just kept chatting.

At some point, a young woman with curly blond hair and an attractive guy joined in. We were all talking, but then it was time for her to do her "set". All along the mall, there were niches in the walls where various performers would set up and put no acts. She did a mystic act that was pretty crazy involving dancing (to oddly inappropriate pop songs like "1,000 Miles" by Vanessa Carlisle).

I wanted to see the guy again, so I kept wandering the acts and trying to spot him. I found the older gentleman again but couldn't find the young guy. At some point as I was walking along, the dream apparently changed entirely. I was now a doctor who specialized in genetic alterations. A little girl at the mall was somehow badly hurt by one of the summoned security people. The security was called up when they were needed, and as soon as they weren't needed anymore, they began to decompose until they turned into dust. Then they'd be resummoned whole and ready for the next mission. The evil guard dude in question was played by Julian McMahon thanks to our seeing RED (so good!) in the theater the other day, apparently.

The girl would have died without help, so myself and the cute guy (who was suddenly another doctor working with me) put her into what basically looked like a plate glass window with space between. We slipped her in and then some gel liquid was added. This liquid attached to her and began "filling in" the injured spots and trying to heal her body by binding with it. The issue, of course, is that a certain amount of mutation always happens with these things (apparently). By the time her mother was there, we were trying to minimize the mutation, but it was impossible to stop entirely. When we told the mother that her daughter would likely end up a cyclops, she started crying and saying that we should have just let her die.

That pissed us right off since being a little unusual's better than being dead, and we'd grown pretty attached to the kid while we were treating her. She was probably about seven or eight.

Unfortunately before I was able to find out her fate, the alarm cut into the action and stopped the story.

Harry and the Doctor

Harry Potter Promo Pic, originally uploaded by virus95.

Time travel has never been so odd.

My dream last night started at my friend Ashley's house. Except it was not like any house she or her parents had ever lived in. I know, I've seen them all. Seriously. But it was her house as far as dream me knew, and we settled down on the couch to watch the new episode of Doctor Who.

The episode happened to focus on the Doctor showing up to help the students at Hogwarts fight Voldemort. But the students had known the Doctor's previous incarnation (or one of them, anyway), so Eleven was having to prove to them that he was in fact the Doctor. And then prove that they really needed his help. Harry was oddly confrontational about the whole thing.

At some point Ashley or I spilled ice cream on the floor, so I was distracted from the episode by helping get that cleaned up. And then I was at my place getting an email from my friend Chad about how he'd had someone out to clean the carpets. Because apparently at that point in the dream I'd been at his house instead? I have no idea. I just know that a Doctor Who/Harry Potter crossover is easily one of the strangest things I've ever dreamed.

Molesting the Doctor

I credit my dear friend Chad with the lovely start to my dreams last night since he kept sending me delicious YouTube vidoes of Matt Smith <3 In any case, in the context of the dream, I was somehow involved with production on the new Doctor Who... but there were other people there who really shouldn't have been, such as one of the guys from Red Dwarf. That's just how dreamWho rolls, apparently.

In any case, we were doing a read through of the scripts all sitting on the floor. I was sitting with Matt and giving him a hug from behind while he read his script. Yep, I'm a dorky fan girl even in my dreams. But in my dreams? There are no restraining orders and people are happy with the interference. Oooo.

Then in real life, Otis decided to wake us up because apparently he was thirsty. When did he become a toddler? Anyway, I went back to sleep and things became less warm and fuzzy. Which sucks cuz I much rather would have kept snuggling Matt, damn the luck!

In the second dream, we were going to a university where Wes was taking classes. There was some kind of play or ceremony going on, and the really weird thing? My mom and dad were there and together, which is, as most of you know, bizarre on a LOT of levels. At one point I went upstairs in a building and there was a hotel room set up for people to wait in or something. I hung out there for awhile and then went downstairs. Wes and I ended up getting in a fight on the way out to the parking lot (we'd all driven out there together) because he wasn't listening and then was being rude. He got pissed and ended up ditching to talk to some chick he was in class with.

I was so ticked off that I just went upstairs to the weird little room again. My phone made a noise and it turned out I had a message. It was from Wes saying that he wasn't sure we were going to work out after all and he was going to take some time to be sure. He said he had gone home with the girl I'd seen him talking to, and that I should just go home with my parents alone. The alarm naturally chose to wake me before I could process any of that or fix anything, so a night of dreaming that ended awesomely fell entirely into suck.

Dreaming of Lacroix

Nigel Bennett at Ad Astra, originally uploaded by folkstone42.
My dream started out with myself and several other people who I can't remember clearly stalking Lucien Lacroix from Forever Knight (played by the lovely Nigel Bennett, who is shown above) through an airport. No, I don't know why. Somehow he was aware we were following him. I think we were *supposed* to be following him, I just have no clue why. In any case, we stopped at baggage claim a few times, walked by the same McDonalds at least three times.

At some point I think I woke up and settled back down to sleep, and the dream shifted tones. I went with a group of other people to get on a lift that would take us to a ride. The ride went high up over a bunch of water. I frankly didn't want to go but had to for some reason. When we got to the top, one of the people stepped out as if to get on the platform for the ride... and promptly plunged to their death. I didn't look, but some of the others were looking, and they broke out into laughter. I think it was partly nervous laughter. We asked the guides if we could all just get back in the lift and go back down, and they said yes.

It's no wonder I still felt tired when I woke up!

Date with an Angel

Angel by Wildemoon, originally uploaded by wildemoon.
Last night's dream fell into the category of being epic but confusing. Things were elaborate but even I'm not sure I understand all of the action. I was dating David Boreanaz ostensibly, but the truth was that he wasn't David the actor, he was really more Angel, the character he played on Buffy. So it was like an odd hybrid situation where he was supposed to be the actor and I called him David, but he was a vampire and... yeah, I don't get it either.

We were at some sort of large convention that somehow had something to do with a school or something along those lines. There was supposed to be a bit announcement that we were waiting for, but it was late. We found out a friend of his who owned a bar was having trouble. Apparently I was a vampire too because I grabbed one of the chicks who was causing the trouble and was telling her I'd be happy to suck her blood and leave her there but my boyfriend wouldn't approve of it.

I know there was more to it all, but I'm afraid those are the only fragments that survived to the waking world.

Cinnamon Rolls & Pee Wee Herman

Well last night was definitely a weird one. First I dreamt that mom and I had just moved into a house that was attached to a strip mall. I don't think Kathy and Wes were there at all, though my memory is fuzzy. We were just cleaning the place up and getting ready to really get settled when we realized that a cinnamon roll shop was opening next door.

For some reason we had no consideration for the privacy of the new owners. Maybe we owned that part of the building too. I have no idea. Anyway, we went in and started looking around the place, which was about half set up. And Pee Wee Herman was the owner, as it turned out. The weird thing? He looked like Pee Wee (full on suit and everything), but acted like a normal dude. Very confusing. At that point, things get pretty fuzzy, but I think I woke up shortly thereafter. Strange, strange stuff. So, Pee Wee is now in the cinnamon roll business in some part of my brain. 0.0

Drama & Mystery

Apparently reading Dead and Gone right before bed was poorly thought out on my part. I ended up having an interestingly cinematic nightmare featuring Wil Wheaton as the villain (sorry about that, man! I love you, I promise!).

While a van from a local mental institution (or something along those lines) was visiting a local store or whatnot, a girl was attacked. It was naturally assumed by the police that one of the patients had done it since apparently the orderly who drove them (that's right, Wil Wheaton's character in my dream) had been separated from the group at some point.

There then ensued naturally a lot of interrogating the girl (I want to say my brain cast Anne Hathaway in the role) and then the girl and the police (can't remember clearly who "played" them) working to find who did it. They ran all over the city, talked to tons of people. Finally somehow a recording surfaced from something that had been in the room during the attack. The orderly could clearly be heard on the tape, and then he was caught.

A lot of the details in my mind are fuzzy, and I want to say that the girl actually had a bad feeling about the orderly all along - subconscious memory or something. I just can't quite recall. In any case, it was one of those annoying dreams from which you wake up feeling as if you haven't really rested yet. I need a nap.

House does Bones

Last night my enthusiasm for the new episode of House tonight and the fact that I started watching an episode of Bones before bed combined.

I was watching some movie that was somehow cobbled together from other movies (no, don't ask - I don't understand either) to make a movie where House was investigating crimes. Somehow Wilson was tied into one of them. I think he'd been mugged by the guy they were trying to catch or something. But Hugh Laurie was very young in the movie and using his real accent instead of an American accent. Strange as it all was, I was still bummed when Wes interrupted in the dream. lol I would have loved to see how that one turned out.

True Confusion

I wish I could remember the dream now. I know it was brought on by seeing Wes reading Living Dead in Dallas before he went to sleep and me wanting to watch the next disc of True Blood that we got from Netflix. All I can remember of the long, complicated dream (it was really interesting, I just can't recall the details) is that I was Sookie Stackhouse for awhile.

Hopefully I'll retain a little more of my next interestingly bizarre dream :)

Recreational Activities

Last night I got a chance to spend some quality time with House and Wilson. Well, sort of. The dream started out with my mom and I watching a movie with Robert Sean Leonard in it and somehow segued to Wilson (his character on House) being ill and staying at our house. Which, naturally, looked nothing like either of our houses.

I'm not sure if mom went out to get something or what, precisely, but myself and my sister were alone at home with House, Wilson & Chase. My sister seemed to be a bit older, and Chase was a bit younger. Naturally, he and my sister hit it off well. They went to get to know one another better and talk in a tent set up in the kitchen. No, I have no idea why there was a tent in the kitchen. :: shrug ::

That left me conveniently alone with House and Wilson. For some reason I saw House as the more likely to respond to my advances, so I put the moves on in ways far more forward than I'm even capable of in real life. It went over rather well, but my mom sadly came home and interrupted the fun (way to be a dream buzz kill, mom!). So instead I wandered off to talk to Kathy, who apparently had gotten along very well with Chase but agreed to let me borrow him to play with later. My sister is awesome even in dreams.

I know there was more to the action than that, but that's what stayed with me after I woke up. Strange, but definitely not unpleasant. Any night that involves making out with Hugh Laurie = a good night.

Chaos Reigns

I wish I could remember my dream from last night more clearly because I know it had a pronounced, involved plot. The first thing I remember clearly is being at mom's house (though it looked nothing like her house). Her monkey, George, had run away to the neighbor's yard, so we were going to get him. Otis, Sophie, and Fang were all with us but none of them were on leashes for some reason. The neighbor didn't mind the monkey, but I knew he hated dogs being in his yard, so I was trying to keep the dogs from going into the backyard. I was also anxious about getting them on leashes, though mom kept insisting they'd follow without them.

Somehow it all segued into an action movie sort of thing where vampires and humans were working together to fight something else. I was going to a warehouse to meet up with the other people who were going to fight, and my friend Ashley (going by her internet handle of Feral) and my friend Nicky were both there. They looked great, and I observed that I hadn't even had a chance to put on make-up in my hurry to get there. No one seemed to care much. Some new humans arrived to help, and they were singing something (80s song, I know, but I don't remember what) in a very Glee sort of a way as they came in.

Then I can't recall what happens for awhile and suddenly there was a car chase sort of thing. I remember stopping to let mom get in, and she was riding in the car with the door open. I wanted to stop and make her settle in and close it, but there wasn't time. We saw Nathan from Heroes dressed up like some kind of thug crime lord in the back of a car with his girlfriend (didn't recognize her), and somehow we realized it meant we'd been set up, though I couldn't for the life of me say how.

I was busy last night. No wonder I overslept!

MJ Lives!

This is one of those duo dreams where one dream seems to lead into another.

It started out that I was in some sort of camp. We were all supposed to finish writing a book before we were allowed to leave. Some people wanted to give up or run away, and they were all murdered horribly. I can't remember the specifics of it all, just the stress of knowing I had to write something but not having any idea of what to put down or where to begin and knowing I didn't have much more time to finish in.

Then I was attending a final press conference with Michael Jackson. I knew it was not long before his death somehow even at the time. There were a lot of other people there, including Lindsey from work and her husband (who I've never met). MJ came in wearing cut off shorts and a bulky jacket/shirt. We all thought it was pretty bizarre-looking, but he was really nice and polite and greeted everyone warmly and answered questions. Then as he was leaving with his entourage, he whipped off the jacket, and there was a long, flowing cape underneath like the kind you'd see a king wearing in an old movie. Very lush and expensive-looking... and an odd match with cut off shorts, let me tell you.

I'm a Doll

Last night, I was a Doll. Yes, like on Dollhouse (damn Fox for cancelling that show just when it was getting really good!).

Except I wasnt. I didn't look like me, and I was both involved in the action and watching it all at the same time. I can't remember the full set up, but myself and a few other people (one of them the dean of students where I work) were infiltrating a town that was some kind of cult. There was a special event going on that we were trying to get information about or something along those lines. We snuck into town pretending to be one of the faithful, making chit-chat, etc.

Eventually we ran into a guy who pretended to know us. Now from my perspective watching the action, I knew it was Vincent Ventresca's character from Dollhouse, and I knew he didn't have anything more to do with the cult than we did because he was just trying to get revenge on the Dollhouse. But in the dream, I kind of went along with it, flirted, pretended that I knew him too.

He got us inside the hotel we'd been trying to infiltrate, sat us down at a table with some "friends" of his, and then, naturally, betrayed us and revealed that we weren't who we were pretending to be. Unfortunately I'm not sure what the thrilling climax was since I woke up.
