Creepy Ickiness

And I don't even remember enough of the story to share it! I know that there was a "hiding from the evil" vibe to my nightmare last night, but I don't remember what said evil was. I do remember being chased by bugs that would get into people's bodies and kinda eat them from the inside at one point, but I think they were just minions of the bigger evil. I do know me and other survivors were hiding out in my grandma's house, but that's about as far as my recollection goes on this one.

Dates, Weddings & Dark Plots

05/10/2009 11:27, originally uploaded by alun.vega.

Last night's dream was a bit overly convoluted. It began with me and several other girls being kidnapped by a strange woman. She was heavy set and had long, dark curly hair. We were pretty sure we were going to get killed, but instead she had these odd scenarios we were all supposed to play out. The first girl was dressed up and thrown into a wedding while the rest of us stood in as her bridesmaids. No one else at the ceremony seemed to know what was going on or that anything was amiss, the groom included.

Once that was over and she went off with her new husband, I came up next in line. The woman took me aside and told me I had a date to get to. She gave me a different pair of pants to change into and a jacket. I was nervous and still sort of scared and had absolutely no idea what was going on. My mystery date turned out to be Matt Smith. Well, not exactly, but the dude looked very much like him. Again, he seemed to think nothing of the fact that I'd been abducted to go on the date and for some reason I didn't mention it.

We chatted, had a really normal date. He was born in England but had moved to the States as a kid and blah blah blah... all super normal. When I got home, I was informed by the woman that we would be going out again. What followed was a courtship that was actually pretty pleasant despite the fact that the woman was orchestrating the whole thing. I kept overhearing her talk to her butler/henchman/whatever about how things were "supposed to be" for all of the girls she had taken. Ultimately I got engaged to the guy, but the woman was very adamant that we do things "properly" so there was no hanky panky before marriage. Talk about your buzzkills...

Anyway, he got mugged or something at some point, so I invited him to stay at the house with me so he wasn't alone. I had to get permission from the woman and promise that nothing untoward would happen. A few days before the wedding, I overheard the woman talking to her henchman again about my guy apparently being supposed to die. From what she said, I got the impression that she'd seen it all unfold, and instead of trying to prevent it, she was trying to force it all to happen the way it had before.

Naturally I wasn't really thrilled with that idea and was trying to prevent it. I don't remember how it all went down, but one of the other girls who was trying to go against it all and I got picked up by two thugs working for the woman. They explained to us that things had to be the way they were, and they tortured the first girl while I was there as a form of motivation for me to promise to play nice, I guess.

Unfortunately I woke up before the thrilling conclusion, so even I don't know what the deep dark plot was or what happened to my pretty fake fiance. Bummer.

Visits and Fashion and Family

At the start of my dream last night, my mom was taking Wes and I to stay at a friend's vacation home. Oddly her friend was an old art teacher of mine, but in the context of the dream, she apparently knew him better than I did. When we got to the house, we realized it looked like someone as already staying there. We were confused since he'd said we'd have the place to ourselves, but we figured maybe his son crashed there for a night or two and just didn't clean the place up again. It was posh with everything from a swimming pool to a gorgeously manicured lawn.

In time we realized that the other people staying there were our family. My uncle's ex wife, my cousin (who I was genuinely happy to see), and my uncle who we've been having all the real life issues with. Grandma was there as well. At one point she and I were going through some drawers to clean out one of the rooms so we could stay in it and we found an old gold skirt that had been hers. She said I could have it, and the strangest part was that it fit (she's a half foot or more shorter than me).

I was actively working to avoid my uncle so that there would be no drama during the visit. We just wanted to have fun. I was doing one of my rounds through a hallway to get away from him when my papau walked through on his way to get breakfast. He just said, "Morning, sweetheart," and moved on through. He was wearing his usual robe, his hair was all ruffled from being asleep, and I seemed to be the only one who thought it was strange that he was there.

All in all, a strange night of good and bad.

Psycho Killer

Barbie Murders 07, originally uploaded by wildemoon.

Last night's dream was one of those that I'm frustrated to have forgotten. You see, I remember enough to know that it was an awesomely-plotted serial killer chase kinda thing. Somebody was coming to kill me, and it was very exciting - or would have been if I wasn't involved personally.

The problem? By the time I was awake enough to get to a computer, the memory was too fuzzy to make for a good story. Sorry, guys! I'm disappointed too.

Cheerleaders & Old Stemware

My dream began innocently enough. I was in high school... or something. For some reason most of the people around seemed to be cheerleaders. They were incessantly talking about a competition coming up. Cordelia Chase herself was even there practicing a ridiculously difficult routine involving a machine that looked like it belonged in a circus and would spin the person in it around and then let them go so they could land dramatically. When it went badly (duh!), she was trying to convince the coach that Buffy had sabotaged her.

One girl was pissed because her coach wanted her to cut down her 60 minute routine to only thirty. The other cheerleaders, naturally, were full of sympathy. My main problem personally was that I couldn't find about half my clothes. I wanted to wear a particular yellow shirt because I had decided that my clothing theme for the week (NO, I don't have those) was going to involve dressing to match a cool poster I had (that I don't have in real life, sadly).

At some point I ended up going with mom and Kathy to visit my grandma. Kathy drove us, and neither mom or I was nervous about that fact. Amazeballs! In any case, we got there and grandma said she had something important to tell us. That made us all sort of nervous, but we settled in and mom told her to let us know. It turned out she had just decided to move some old glasses from her wedding to papau into a different room. We were all a little WTF about why she was so dramatic about it, but also relieved that it was nothing bad.

Then we piled back into the car and Kathy started driving. I realized that instead of being where grandma actually lives, we were in Hamilton, TX. I kept asking why we were there, and Kathy looked at me like I was nuts for not realizing it was where grandma lives.

And then? You guessed it! Alarm.

Zombie Apocalypse

Zombie School Girl, originally uploaded by scottnj.

The dead are walking! They were last night in my dream, in any case. It was oddly disjointed since while the people involved remained relatively constant but we kept changing locations without my having any memory of moving. One minute we would be squatting in an old church and the next we'd be in a Victorian mansion trying to figure out if we could shore up the walls properly.

It was in one of the mansions that we found a room full of folks praying and chanting and hoping that god would spare them the zombie curse because they were so pious. We avoided them as best we could and tried to find another area of the mansion to crash in until it was light again and we could move along.

There was a main base where we kept pictures of all the people in our group who had been killed. Not everyone was grateful to be part of the group, and after one particularly vile dude tried to run a few of the girls off the road on a supply run, we intended to throw him out. He showed up at base with some of his friends. They all had guns, but eventually after we told them to fuck off and make their own base, they did it.

I wish I could remember all the little vignettes of action that took place, but that's all I got. Hopefully this dream will continue eventually because it was kinda fun.

Malls and Genetic Alterations

Psychic & Crystal, originally uploaded by FotoEdge.

My dream last night took a lot of strange turns, and I wish I could remember it more clearly. I think I could get at least a couple NaNoWriMo books out of it if I could.

It began in a mall. I was talking to someone about the fancy spas nearby and checking out the prices through their window. An older man overheard and chimed into the conversation. It turned out that he was an older actor from General Hospital who I recognized. It's been too long since I watched the show for me to place him at once. To be respectful, I didn't point out that I recognized him (I knew precisely who he was in the dream) and instead just kept chatting.

At some point, a young woman with curly blond hair and an attractive guy joined in. We were all talking, but then it was time for her to do her "set". All along the mall, there were niches in the walls where various performers would set up and put no acts. She did a mystic act that was pretty crazy involving dancing (to oddly inappropriate pop songs like "1,000 Miles" by Vanessa Carlisle).

I wanted to see the guy again, so I kept wandering the acts and trying to spot him. I found the older gentleman again but couldn't find the young guy. At some point as I was walking along, the dream apparently changed entirely. I was now a doctor who specialized in genetic alterations. A little girl at the mall was somehow badly hurt by one of the summoned security people. The security was called up when they were needed, and as soon as they weren't needed anymore, they began to decompose until they turned into dust. Then they'd be resummoned whole and ready for the next mission. The evil guard dude in question was played by Julian McMahon thanks to our seeing RED (so good!) in the theater the other day, apparently.

The girl would have died without help, so myself and the cute guy (who was suddenly another doctor working with me) put her into what basically looked like a plate glass window with space between. We slipped her in and then some gel liquid was added. This liquid attached to her and began "filling in" the injured spots and trying to heal her body by binding with it. The issue, of course, is that a certain amount of mutation always happens with these things (apparently). By the time her mother was there, we were trying to minimize the mutation, but it was impossible to stop entirely. When we told the mother that her daughter would likely end up a cyclops, she started crying and saying that we should have just let her die.

That pissed us right off since being a little unusual's better than being dead, and we'd grown pretty attached to the kid while we were treating her. She was probably about seven or eight.

Unfortunately before I was able to find out her fate, the alarm cut into the action and stopped the story.

Hair Cut

#16/365 - J'en connais, originally uploaded by Clara Zamith.

I wish, for the sake of making this post interesting, that I could remember most of my dream last night. Unfortunately for all of you, the only part I remember is that I had my hair dyed a really pretty dark strawberry blond/light red with golden highlights. Somehow looking in the bathroom mirror I managed to give myself a really cute short haircut.

Yep, that's all I remember. I looked GOOD too. Unfortunately I couldn't find any great pictures of short red hair, but this was the one that came closest to the cut. That's the end of the story. Move along, folks. Nothing else to see here.

Memories and Visions

Old Spice, originally uploaded by Batang Nikonero.

My dream began with my grandma and I staying with a friend who was getting married. I have no idea who this friend was, but they were apparently loaded because their house was massive. We weren't part of the wedding party, so we were catching glimpses of them doing things like going off for the belly dancing-themed bachelorette party. I couldn't figure out why we'd gotten there so early when we didn't have much to do, but at least the place was swanky.

Eventually we went out to breakfast and then back to grandma's house. I still felt kind of weird being there without papau. Nobody was home, so I went back to papau's old room. I was just looking for some little piece of him left there and then he walked in. He looked the way he's looked the last couple of times I dreamed about him - not a young man, but strong and vital. Maybe in his fifties? But with white hair. In my dream the room was Dewey's although I think Gary is living back there in real life.

Papau was talking to me, but I don't remember what he said. He went into the bathroom and found some of his Old Spice aftershave on one of the shelves and handed me that. Then someone who was apparently Dewey's girlfriend came back. In the context of the dream, I knew and liked her a lot (though in real life I've never seen the woman. lol), so I gave her a hug and then left to go with mom to pick my stuff up from the house where grandma and I had been staying.

We were all supposed to meet back at the house for a family lunch or something, so we had to hurry. That was about when the alarm clock decided I was done dreaming.

Harry and the Doctor

Harry Potter Promo Pic, originally uploaded by virus95.

Time travel has never been so odd.

My dream last night started at my friend Ashley's house. Except it was not like any house she or her parents had ever lived in. I know, I've seen them all. Seriously. But it was her house as far as dream me knew, and we settled down on the couch to watch the new episode of Doctor Who.

The episode happened to focus on the Doctor showing up to help the students at Hogwarts fight Voldemort. But the students had known the Doctor's previous incarnation (or one of them, anyway), so Eleven was having to prove to them that he was in fact the Doctor. And then prove that they really needed his help. Harry was oddly confrontational about the whole thing.

At some point Ashley or I spilled ice cream on the floor, so I was distracted from the episode by helping get that cleaned up. And then I was at my place getting an email from my friend Chad about how he'd had someone out to clean the carpets. Because apparently at that point in the dream I'd been at his house instead? I have no idea. I just know that a Doctor Who/Harry Potter crossover is easily one of the strangest things I've ever dreamed.

Triple Threat

Bright Eyes., originally uploaded by { KC Photography }.
In my dream last night, Wes and I had just moved into a new place. It was in a small town still but a bit more populated than Ponder. We were next door to someone that grew a bunch of their own veggies and (we could see through their mostly glass back doors) had a freakin' sweet kitchen.

But the really noteworthy thing is that we had three kids: a little girl who was a toddler and two babies. Oddly the babies were a few months apart in age, so don't ask me how that worked out. In the dream I kept having trouble remembering their names, though Wes called the boy Perry at one point. Which I would never, ever name a kid. Ever.

Otherwise it was pretty standard domestic day to day stuff... still a bit on the odd side, though.

Molesting the Doctor

I credit my dear friend Chad with the lovely start to my dreams last night since he kept sending me delicious YouTube vidoes of Matt Smith <3 In any case, in the context of the dream, I was somehow involved with production on the new Doctor Who... but there were other people there who really shouldn't have been, such as one of the guys from Red Dwarf. That's just how dreamWho rolls, apparently.

In any case, we were doing a read through of the scripts all sitting on the floor. I was sitting with Matt and giving him a hug from behind while he read his script. Yep, I'm a dorky fan girl even in my dreams. But in my dreams? There are no restraining orders and people are happy with the interference. Oooo.

Then in real life, Otis decided to wake us up because apparently he was thirsty. When did he become a toddler? Anyway, I went back to sleep and things became less warm and fuzzy. Which sucks cuz I much rather would have kept snuggling Matt, damn the luck!

In the second dream, we were going to a university where Wes was taking classes. There was some kind of play or ceremony going on, and the really weird thing? My mom and dad were there and together, which is, as most of you know, bizarre on a LOT of levels. At one point I went upstairs in a building and there was a hotel room set up for people to wait in or something. I hung out there for awhile and then went downstairs. Wes and I ended up getting in a fight on the way out to the parking lot (we'd all driven out there together) because he wasn't listening and then was being rude. He got pissed and ended up ditching to talk to some chick he was in class with.

I was so ticked off that I just went upstairs to the weird little room again. My phone made a noise and it turned out I had a message. It was from Wes saying that he wasn't sure we were going to work out after all and he was going to take some time to be sure. He said he had gone home with the girl I'd seen him talking to, and that I should just go home with my parents alone. The alarm naturally chose to wake me before I could process any of that or fix anything, so a night of dreaming that ended awesomely fell entirely into suck.

Old Friends

Lara, originally uploaded by Chisan.
Last night I reconnected in person with my friend Karla for the first time in years - at least in my dream. She came with her son to stay with Wes and I, though we were in a different house than where we live now. There was an apartment in the house, and she and her toddler came to stay with us.

We were both surprised by how easy it was to talk again since we'd been separated so long. I wish I could remember the specifics, but I have to say it was really nice.

Dreaming of Lacroix

Nigel Bennett at Ad Astra, originally uploaded by folkstone42.
My dream started out with myself and several other people who I can't remember clearly stalking Lucien Lacroix from Forever Knight (played by the lovely Nigel Bennett, who is shown above) through an airport. No, I don't know why. Somehow he was aware we were following him. I think we were *supposed* to be following him, I just have no clue why. In any case, we stopped at baggage claim a few times, walked by the same McDonalds at least three times.

At some point I think I woke up and settled back down to sleep, and the dream shifted tones. I went with a group of other people to get on a lift that would take us to a ride. The ride went high up over a bunch of water. I frankly didn't want to go but had to for some reason. When we got to the top, one of the people stepped out as if to get on the platform for the ride... and promptly plunged to their death. I didn't look, but some of the others were looking, and they broke out into laughter. I think it was partly nervous laughter. We asked the guides if we could all just get back in the lift and go back down, and they said yes.

It's no wonder I still felt tired when I woke up!

Moments

I'm a bit tired this morning because my dreams were active last night. I vague impressions of family stress surrounding my uncles moving in with my grandparents, but the part of the dream that really stood out was that papau was there. He was alive and fine. Mom and Kathy and I had come over to stay the night, and we were figuring out which room we could stay in. The living room of the house was the same, but then you went down a hallway and suddenly it was like a hall in a mansion. There were tons of rooms, but we knew only a couple of them were set up to sleep in. Even in a stressful, weird dream, it was worth it to spend a little time with papau.

Dangerous Liasons with Snakes

I was staying at grandma's house and finding myself frustrated that there were no toothbrushes around to use. I'm not sure why I expected there to be one since grandma hasn't kept one there for me in the better part of a decade.

I looked out the window and saw that the yard was flooded. It wasn't swampy like the last time (within the dream, I still recalled my previous dream), just wet. I could see a few small fish (a goldfish kept watching me as I moved around the window) and some water bugs. After some more searching in the house, I went outside.

There was plenty of room to walk around the flooding, so I went over and sat on one of the walls in the yard. Frogs were jumping around in some of the puddles, so I watched them. When I bent down, I realized there was a hole in the wall so that you could see under where you were sitting.

I saw the back end of a snake and froze. Rattlesnake. When I turned, I saw that I was right beside the front end. Sophie (one of our dogs) wasn't far away, and I didn't want to act too strangely because I was worried that she might come over to check out what was going on. Instead I started backing off slowly. Well, the snake didn't like that a bit and coiled up to strike.

Somehow I managed to grab it, but once I had it, I was too scared to cut its head off. I stabbed it a few times in the neck with my pocket knife, but it was still alive. It followed us, so I caught it again and held it so it couldn't bite. When I got inside, I was freaking out and explained to mom what happened. She chided me for not killing it and then chopped its head off herself.

We were then preparing to take a trip with grandma, and I was disappointed because I'd forgotten to bring any music at all for the drive. Before we got much further than that, the alarm woke me up.

The Normalcy of Strangeness

Baby Vivian's Hand, originally uploaded by My Little Chickadee.
Last night I dreamt that Wes and I had just brought a gorgeous little baby girl home from the hospital. I kept being surprised to find that we had the things we needed (it was as if I was going from thinking about having a kid to being home with one). As the dream progressed, my memories of the hospital and stuff slowly began to fill in.

The really interesting part was that it was all very natural. It wasn't odd having her there or caring for her. We fit it all in with the things we usually did, we brought her along with us. She slept like an angel, and I was continually surprised by that. I reminded myself over and over during the dream to enjoy it because I didn't expect it to last.

It was interesting to have a dream about a situation so relatively foreign to me that was so restful.

Zoos and Murder

creepiest men's room EVER, originally uploaded by wizmo.
Once again, my dream started out rather pleasant last night. I was at a really cool indoor zoo with my best bud Ashley. I noticed that some people had taken to getting annual memberships and jogging through the building as exercise. I thought that was ingenious since the zoo was right downtown and close to so many businesses. What better way to exercise than in an air conditioned environment while looking at cool animals?

Sometime later I went down the escalator (which was going far too fast for some reason) to leave. Outside I spotted a guy with a gun. I bravely... well, okay, I grabbed the closest guy to me and begged him to help me before more or less throwing him at the dude with the gun. What? Self preservation, baby. Anyway, while the guy with the gun beat the crap out of said guy (no idea why he didn't shoot him), I ran for it. The landscape outside was strange, but I finally found a spot at the end of a house behind some bushes that seemed secure. Unfortunately crazy dude with a gun caught up with me. I think he was going to shoot me or something, but I woke up. Yay alarm clock?

Be Fruitful & Make Baby Rats

My dream last night actually started out well. In the waking world, one of our rats is dying. She's having a lot of trouble and we're doing what we can to make her comfortable. In my dream, however, we discovered that she'd only been ill because she was pregnant. She had a large litter of beautiful little baby rats (that oddly ranged in age from tiny to obviously a few days old) and was doing well. We were playing with the babies and so excited about how excellent she was doing!

Then I went over to Spike's cage (Spike being our gargoyle gecko) and found that he was dead. Worse than that, for some reason he was split open. It was absolutely horrific, and I immediately called Wes to take care of him. Thankfully at that point my memory of the dream blurs.

Needless to say, for the third day in a row I don't feel particularly rested.

Baby Dreams

I heart baby feet, originally uploaded by justine mcmillan.
Would that it could be so easy! In my dream last night, I was at home with our new baby girl. The best part? I'd delivered by c-section and somehow there was barely any scar, any wound, and I couldn't even really feel it. Slight twinge every now and then and that was it. The dream world's so darn much easier! Anyway, I was asking Wes if he was going to take time off, but I wasn't really worried about it. So low key and not me. heh

After a brief wake up, I went back to sleep and found myself with my best friend Ashley and her sister. Ashley and another friend of hers were entering a candy making contest being hosted at TWU. I was going along to help them find the place. Her sister was talking to a friend of hers about entering the next year with their cupcake business. It had some kind of oddly bad ass name that does not fit how sweetly girlie her sister actually is.

Unfortunately I woke up for real and we never did get to find out what was up with the contest. Too bad because some of that candy looked delicious.

Unplanned Vacations

Back to the ocean again! Wes, mom, Kathy and I were on vacation with the puppies. We arrived at the hotel where we were supposed to stay and our room wasn't ready. There was a waiting room (literally a hotel room, however, not a lobby) where we were put to wait. We were lying on one big bed with the dogs and there was an older lady on the next bed over. We weren't paying attention and Otis got up onto her bed. She seemed charmed rather than annoyed and gave him some attention.

Eventually we were able to go up to our actual room, and then we realized that Wes hadn't reserved the space at the resort we were going to the next day like he was supposed to. As it turns out, when we looked it up, the really beautiful beachside resort we had wanted to stay at (and one I've visited in previous dreams) was closed for a few days, so we were scrambling to find another location that would be as nice.

Before we could find one, however, the alarm brought me back to reality. D'oh!

Family and Lakes

A lot of my dream from last night faded when I woke up, but parts of it stayed with me. My grandma was staying at our house, and I was able to sit down and talk to her about some things one of my uncles did when papau was dying. She actually listened and absorbed and was as horrified as she should have been when I really told her.

On our way back up driving home to grandma's (it was just Wes and I in the car by then, I think), I was stopped by someone working on a road crew who had known papau. She was talking about how sad she was to hear that he had passed away. Somehow we ended up somewhere else entirely, and then papau was there. He was alive and younger and smiling. Unfortunately I woke up for a bit and when I went back to sleep, the dream had changed.

At some point later in the dream, we were back at grandma's house. Looking out back, I could see that there was a huge lake in the yard. The yard itself had expanded somehow, not changing layout somehow but simply expanding in size. The lake had occurred naturally because of all the rainstorms that had apparently been happening in the area, and fish had even swum into it from someplace. Some were normal, but I could see some bizarrely oversized fish swimming around. There were also strangers down at the lake swimming. That made me mad, and I went outside to tell them to go away, but they were already packing up to leave by the time I got down there.

Date with an Angel

Angel by Wildemoon, originally uploaded by wildemoon.
Last night's dream fell into the category of being epic but confusing. Things were elaborate but even I'm not sure I understand all of the action. I was dating David Boreanaz ostensibly, but the truth was that he wasn't David the actor, he was really more Angel, the character he played on Buffy. So it was like an odd hybrid situation where he was supposed to be the actor and I called him David, but he was a vampire and... yeah, I don't get it either.

We were at some sort of large convention that somehow had something to do with a school or something along those lines. There was supposed to be a bit announcement that we were waiting for, but it was late. We found out a friend of his who owned a bar was having trouble. Apparently I was a vampire too because I grabbed one of the chicks who was causing the trouble and was telling her I'd be happy to suck her blood and leave her there but my boyfriend wouldn't approve of it.

I know there was more to it all, but I'm afraid those are the only fragments that survived to the waking world.

Stealing Glitter

mystical eye, originally uploaded by tara_tearex.
In my dream, I was going with papau and Kathy (my sister) to some fireworks. We were driving through a small town that was supposed to be Lampasas but wasn't. It looked different. The area around the field where the fireworks were going to be was very crowded, so we ended up parking far away and deciding to walk.

We cut through a craft store in the town square, and I was looking around for something. I wanted to ask someone where to find it but the employees were being rude and wouldn't help. On our way out the front, papau saw a jar of blue glitter stars, picked it up, and said, "I think these are on discount today." He smiled and just walked right on out with it, so we followed. We were still on our way to the fireworks when I woke up.

Cinnamon Rolls & Pee Wee Herman

Well last night was definitely a weird one. First I dreamt that mom and I had just moved into a house that was attached to a strip mall. I don't think Kathy and Wes were there at all, though my memory is fuzzy. We were just cleaning the place up and getting ready to really get settled when we realized that a cinnamon roll shop was opening next door.

For some reason we had no consideration for the privacy of the new owners. Maybe we owned that part of the building too. I have no idea. Anyway, we went in and started looking around the place, which was about half set up. And Pee Wee Herman was the owner, as it turned out. The weird thing? He looked like Pee Wee (full on suit and everything), but acted like a normal dude. Very confusing. At that point, things get pretty fuzzy, but I think I woke up shortly thereafter. Strange, strange stuff. So, Pee Wee is now in the cinnamon roll business in some part of my brain. 0.0

Ice Cream Social & Abandoned Carnivals

I wish I could remember my dream from two nights ago more clearly. I know that at one point Wes and I were attending some sort of community ice cream party. People from all over town (whatever town it was we were in) had made all sorts of unusual, funky flavors of ice cream. You could get full servings of the flavors or just get little tasting cups of a bunch of them. We saw a bunch of people I knew from high school there for whatever reason.

Then we were sneaking off to break into an abandoned carnival that was nearby. It was all boarded up and stuff, but there were ways to sneak in if you knew how. We were going in for something specific, but I have no idea what it was. Unfortunately I woke up before we got to really check the place out. Dang!

Drama & Mystery

Apparently reading Dead and Gone right before bed was poorly thought out on my part. I ended up having an interestingly cinematic nightmare featuring Wil Wheaton as the villain (sorry about that, man! I love you, I promise!).

While a van from a local mental institution (or something along those lines) was visiting a local store or whatnot, a girl was attacked. It was naturally assumed by the police that one of the patients had done it since apparently the orderly who drove them (that's right, Wil Wheaton's character in my dream) had been separated from the group at some point.

There then ensued naturally a lot of interrogating the girl (I want to say my brain cast Anne Hathaway in the role) and then the girl and the police (can't remember clearly who "played" them) working to find who did it. They ran all over the city, talked to tons of people. Finally somehow a recording surfaced from something that had been in the room during the attack. The orderly could clearly be heard on the tape, and then he was caught.

A lot of the details in my mind are fuzzy, and I want to say that the girl actually had a bad feeling about the orderly all along - subconscious memory or something. I just can't quite recall. In any case, it was one of those annoying dreams from which you wake up feeling as if you haven't really rested yet. I need a nap.

Early A-Kon

Last night I got to go to A-Kon early. The only problem is that somehow it was taking place this weekend, so I wasn't prepared. I didn't have any of my shirts ready, I forgot parts of my costume... The upside was that the hotel where it was taking place was even prettier. The rooms were fancy, and they all had really big closets.

Another pleasant surprise was that my mom and another friend (who I don't actually know in real life) had come along with us. Sadly we never got to the convention part since I woke up just after the unpacking. Still, kind of an interesting dream.

Missing Class

This post isn't about a specific dream but rather a recurrent theme in my nightmares. Actually, it even happens sometimes in regular dreams. I realize that I was signed up for classes that I'm not sure I've been attending. Sometimes I just can't remember when I'm signed up for what class. Sometimes I know what classes I'm supposed to be in, but I can't figure out whether I've been to them or not or how many classes I've missed if I know I've missed some. Sometimes things keep me from checking into it all, and sometimes I'm trying to figure it out at the school but don't know how/can't find my schedule/etc. Drives me nuts!

Seeing Inside

Last night's dreams were brought to me by terrible acid reflux. Good times!

It actually started out well. Wes and I found a house in Denton that was about the same size as ours currently and found a buyer for our current house. We were thrilled and moved in. The place was great, and the kitchen was like something out of a magazine - all super duper well appointed and fancy. I moved out into the living room and was about to tell Wes about how absolutely perfect a particular spot (with a high arch-y window and lots of ceiling clearance) was going to be for Christmas tress, and he got all pissy. I told him I was just trying to share my excitement and he answered something rude that I can't recall now. Effectively killed the buzz of THAT dream.

At that point, I think I must have partially woken up because my dream switched focus. I was watching a television commercial where everyone was shadowed by people who were showing how they really felt. For example, a couple was talking about how happy they were together, but behind them their "shadows" (who didn't actually look like them) were making faces and rolling their eyes.

Then I realized that I could see those things in the real world. I was in the house Wes and I had bought, but no one was there except myself and my papau. He was moving around more easily than I'd seen him do in a long time. There was a problem with the plumbing, and maggots and ants and other bugs were coming up through the pipes. We were annoyed but not freaking out. Apparently the city was somehow responsible. But since we couldn't drink water out of the pipes, papau had gone out and gotten me a shake before I got up so I'd have that to drink. I was getting ready and turned around to look at him and saw that I could see one of the "shadows" following him. It was smaller than him and greenish - basically a sort of cartoonish version of someone who was really sick.

That was about when the acid reflux woke me up yet again.

Adoption and Convertibles

Somehow a little girl got left with my family, and we were trying to take care of her. She was four months old but looked like she was about four. Very smart, very obedient, great kid. I can't recall if her parents died or what the situation was. There were a bunch of people visiting at my grandma and papau's house (where we were dealing with it all).

At some point they were taking her somewhere for some reason and papau said he wanted to show me something outside. He took me out to the front yard and showed me a white convertible. I asked him why it was there, and he said he bought it. I was shocked, and he explained that it had something to do with the fact that he couldn't get a decent trade in value on the cars he was going to trade in, so he'd just decided to go for it and get something he wanted. So he took me for a drive in the convertible down really cool country roads.

That's where my memory tapers off, though I think there was more before I actually woke up.

I dreamt that I was part of the choir on Glee. Oh yeah. We were going to a big competition somewhere, and we had to go in and get dressed. I got dressed, then realized I hadn't brought any make-up. One of the other girls loaned me some, but by the time I got out of the bathroom, they were setting up a wedding that was supposed to take place later in that section of the building.

I had to hightail it to where the choirs were getting in line to go in. I couldn't find the others. I saw Mr. Schuster at one point, but I couldn't catch him before he was gone. Finally I found Rachel, but unfortunately she was lost too. Eventually we realized that no one else around. We started talking and planning what we'd do if we were the only people singing. My memory gets a bit fuzzy after that, but I woke up before we performed or found anyone else.

Cults are Bad, Mmmkay?

Last night I dreamt that Wes I were on some sort of vacation. It involved going to an island or something on a small boat with some other people. The other people seemed nice enough, but as the trip wore on, things got weirder and weirder. I can't remember what specifically was tipping me off, but the whole thing made me uneasy.

We arrived at some point and entered an absolutely massive old house. It was really more like an old school or English manor or something. Everything was nice and antique and fancy. I kept telling Wes that I really wanted to leave, but he didn't want to. Finally they were showing us to rooms or something, and Wes mentioned that he'd brought our dogs. I was furious since I was already thinking about running from the people I was pretty sure were crazy, and now I had to figure out how to get the dogs safe too.

Eventually I found some time while everyone was in a meeting (before which I begged Wes once again to come with me) to slip away. I went downstairs to the basement since it was the only part I hadn't seen and there were animals everywhere. They were in cages stacked up to the ceiling. Whether they were all pets of the various people in the place or not I didn't know. I ran through the room and let all the animals out, knowing that our dogs would follow me and the other critters would go attack the employees in the cult headquarters. I also set some kind of explosives or something like that and then hightailed it out of there. On the way out, I saw a groundskeeper who had helped me open some locked doors and told him to come with me. The dogs caught up with me then, so we made a break for it.

We all ran until we got to the next down, which was all decorated in a sort of steampunk vibe. We went into some antique store/bed and breakfast just to try and find a place to rest. I was starting to realize that he was actually a member of the cult keeping an eye on me, so I was trying to act normal around him and claimed that I'd gotten us a room so we could rest before moving on. I also saw someone I knew from high school (can't recall who now) who was in a steampunk-y wheelchair. I can't remember what she told me (something about the groundskeeper, I think) and then my alarm went off.

I made Wes promise when I got up that if I ever gave him warnings about crazy people being in a cult, he had to listen.

House does Bones

Last night my enthusiasm for the new episode of House tonight and the fact that I started watching an episode of Bones before bed combined.

I was watching some movie that was somehow cobbled together from other movies (no, don't ask - I don't understand either) to make a movie where House was investigating crimes. Somehow Wilson was tied into one of them. I think he'd been mugged by the guy they were trying to catch or something. But Hugh Laurie was very young in the movie and using his real accent instead of an American accent. Strange as it all was, I was still bummed when Wes interrupted in the dream. lol I would have loved to see how that one turned out.

Road Trippin'

Yet another involved dream last night. It started with me talking my friend Ashley to class. She'd gone back to school to get some sort of medical degree, and for some reason I was driving her. I even took her into the building and walked her in. It was strange, though, because we had to walk through two other large classrooms to get to hers. By the time I dropped her off, I was walking through classes in progress on the way out to get to the hall where I was going to wait. I wasn't embarrassed by doing this so much as annoyed that the school had planned their schedules and their layout that way. Who does that?

Then Ashley was taking me somewhere. We were driving at night, and we had to pull into a garage (where they fix cars, not where owners put cars) with a few lights on to read the map. We apparently figured it out because after we got back in the car the dream jumped again.

I was in a big SUV with my friends from high school. Cody was driving, and Paul and Joey and I were all sitting in the front seat with him. Somehow it was a big enough car that it wasn't uncomfortable despite that. We were all catching up and talking, and I was struck by how comfortable it all was. I was using Paul's head as a pillow, and we were all piled in there, and yet we were totally and completely at ease. Then suddenly my friend Nicky as in the back seat with her daughter, but her daughter was younger than she really is since she was about toddler aged and wearing diapers. We were on our way to the beach, so we were going to stop so that Nicky could get her daughter a swimsuit and I could find one too. Unfortunately I woke up before we got there. Bummer!

Worries and Fears

Last night I dreamt that Wes and I were staying somewhere with grandma and papau. I think mom and Kathy may have been there as well. It was a condo or something where there was a main living area with a living room and kitchen and the bedrooms all branched off of it. We were just getting unpacked when Wes starting talking strangely. Most of what he was saying made no sense at all. He didn't seem to be aware of it, and I started to get freaked out and told him I was calling the hospital. He protested, but I was too worried not to. For some reason I then tried to lie and say I was just calling his doctor to ask them about it. I kept trying to call 9-1-1 over and over, but I didn't have the right prefix. I tried it with a one and with a four before the number, but I kept getting wrong numbers and stuff.

Finally I dialed four-four before the number and it went through. By then I was crying and really upset and trying to tell them what was going on. They said they'd send someone, but I told them I didn't know how to explain to get to the house (which I suddenly knew was my Aunt Sylvia's). Before they could even reply, grandma and papau said they were driving us to the hospital. They did, but on the way there, I got upset because I realized they were sending the ambulance anyway, but we wouldn't be there when the ambulance arrived. Grandma assured me that was okay and that it was more important that we get there quickly.

We got to the hospital and they took Wes into a room but wouldn't let us come. I was crying and trying to explain that I was scared because his dad died young and his mom had a stroke when she was young too. The doctors said it was fine but they made us leave and go back to the house. Suddenly it wasn't a house but a hotel attached to a mall. I kept trying over and over to call the hospital but no one answered. Finally I apparently dialed Wes' number without realizing it and he answered. I was crying, and he told me it was fine but that they thought there might be fluid on his brain that was making him confused. The connection kept cutting out so I could only hear part of what he was saying. Finally I hung up, but I didn't want to go back to the hotel.

I eventually did go back because I didn't have anywhere else to go and the mall stores were all shutting down. When I got in, no one else seemed to be there, so I went to papau's room. For a few minutes I was sure that papau was the one in the hospital, the one I was scared for, and I kept hugging one of his shirts. Eventually I tried calling the hospital again but Wes hadn't ever hung up his phone, so all I could do was listen to what was going on to his room. I could hear him talking nonsensically to his roommate, and I could hear the TV in their room. When papau got  back, he asked me what I was doing (I was lying on the floor with his shirt with the phone up to my ear). I told him I was listening to the music on the TV in Wes's room.

That's about when I woke up. Very, very exhausting dream.

Feel the Burn

Last night I dreamt that I was staying at grandma and papau's house. While I was there, the house behind theirs (or possibly a barn? couldn't tell) which doesn't exist in real life caught on fire. No one wanted to call the fire fighters, and even I took pictures at first instead of calling. But I didn't take pictures of the house on fire, I took pictures of the flames reflected on grandma and papau's house (which also looked different than it does in real life). When I took a picture of the upper attic window, I could see Charlie, our dog who passed away several years ago, looking out through the window. Later those windows were blown open (I guess by the heat of the flames? no clue).

Eventually I saw a policeman who was parked in the yard for some reason and went over to the car. It took a little bit before he opened the window, but then I explained about the fire and asked him to call the fire department. I have no idea why he didn't see it on his own since he was in the side yard and the fire was in the back. I then got distracted by something inside the house (can't recall what) for awhile, and when I went out, the firefighters were already getting ready to leave.

True Confusion

I wish I could remember the dream now. I know it was brought on by seeing Wes reading Living Dead in Dallas before he went to sleep and me wanting to watch the next disc of True Blood that we got from Netflix. All I can remember of the long, complicated dream (it was really interesting, I just can't recall the details) is that I was Sookie Stackhouse for awhile.

Hopefully I'll retain a little more of my next interestingly bizarre dream :)

Recreational Activities

Last night I got a chance to spend some quality time with House and Wilson. Well, sort of. The dream started out with my mom and I watching a movie with Robert Sean Leonard in it and somehow segued to Wilson (his character on House) being ill and staying at our house. Which, naturally, looked nothing like either of our houses.

I'm not sure if mom went out to get something or what, precisely, but myself and my sister were alone at home with House, Wilson & Chase. My sister seemed to be a bit older, and Chase was a bit younger. Naturally, he and my sister hit it off well. They went to get to know one another better and talk in a tent set up in the kitchen. No, I have no idea why there was a tent in the kitchen. :: shrug ::

That left me conveniently alone with House and Wilson. For some reason I saw House as the more likely to respond to my advances, so I put the moves on in ways far more forward than I'm even capable of in real life. It went over rather well, but my mom sadly came home and interrupted the fun (way to be a dream buzz kill, mom!). So instead I wandered off to talk to Kathy, who apparently had gotten along very well with Chase but agreed to let me borrow him to play with later. My sister is awesome even in dreams.

I know there was more to the action than that, but that's what stayed with me after I woke up. Strange, but definitely not unpleasant. Any night that involves making out with Hugh Laurie = a good night.

Burns & Split Personalities

I can't remember a lot of my dream last night, just the end. I was in the back room of grandma and papau's house, and apparently I was living them with my mom and my sisters (just like my mom and sister and I had when we first moved to that town). But instead of one little sister, I had two. One was probably around twelve, and the other was littler - maybe four or five. They were like my sister split into two people.

The older of the two was having a bad day for some reason, and she left the room and went into the kitchen. We heard her cry out in pain and followed the sound. She'd burned herself, and mom put her hand under the cold water. That just made her more miserable, so mom took her hand out from under the water. I was insisting we get a cold cloth to put on the burn when my alarm went off.

Cleaning House

Last night, I was cleaning out my closet. Except the closet was the closet from mom's house that we started living in when I was in sixth grade. But it was supposed to be in my current house. Confused yet? ;) Inside were the usual on the bottom - clothes and such. But when I got up on a ladder to see the upper shelf, it was really tall and there were things stacked all over. There were out of date pastries that mom had apparently bought us when we moved in so we'd have something to eat before we had things unpacked to cook with. There were old diaries and purses and hats piled up randomly. And I was cleaning out all the stuff that I didn't need like the outdated pastries so that I could organize the rest. Very, very strange. And tiring. I need a nap after working so hard in my dream!

Strange Convention

Somehow I knew I was on the way to A-Kon. It was Wes and I with Otis. We were in a big glass elevator that was absolutely bizarre. Instead of just going up and down the building, it went up and down on the outside of the building, and it flipped over the top to go back down the other side. Given my fear of heights, just watching it freaked me out. And for some reason once Wes dropped Otis and I off (why Otis was with me, I don't know), we had to wait in the elevator until my sister got there.

We would stop on the floors and I saw people dressed in their cosplay stuff, and that did make me feel better. I was excited even though I was scared. I was also annoyed with myself because I'd forgotten Otis' leash, so I was going to have to carry him once the elevator stopped (for some reason I knew he wouldn't run off of the elevator).

Then I woke up a little, and when I drifted back to sleep, I was in the elevator, but Otis wasn't there anymore. Instead I was in it with Melissa and her ex husband and kids. Strangely, though, her ex wasn't the same guy. Same name, but he was Indian, and so while her son looked the same for some reason, her daughter looked younger and looked like she was Indian. It was like one child looked like Mel and the other looked like the dad who wasn't exactly the dad. Very odd.

We were all stuck on the elevator for the night, but the elevator had become huge - it was more like an old storehouse or something than an elevator, and we were all trying to find comfortable spots to sleep in. Then finally the alarm saved me from any further bizarre dreams.

Nightmares

Lately I've been sleeping poorly, so mostly I've been having snippets of dreams that I lose once I fully wake up. Most of those have been nightmares (double the fun, right?). Once I manage to hang onto any of the snippets long enough, I'll post them here. Right now I'm just hoping for better rest in the not too distant future.

Storms

Last night I had the first tornado dream that I've had in a long, long time. In the dream, I was at home getting ready for work. I'd just let the dogs out, and when I looked up at the sky through the blinds, I could see a funnel cloud forming in the clouds. I was terrified and started fumbling with the door lock to get it open. I screamed upstairs for Wes and his grandma to get into a bathroom or something to be safe, and I hurried into the downstairs bathroom with the puppies. Then Wes and his grandma (who is living with us at the moment) came down and got into the bathroom as well. Wes had turned the TV on with the volume up really loud so that we could hear weather updates even in the bathroom with the door shut. Not long after, my alarm went off.
