Teenage Dream

Apparently I only bother posting anymore when I have Darren-related dreams. Which is valid. In any case, in my dream last night, I was working at/volunteering at a resort by a nice lake with some beaches. One of my duties as a volunteer was helping to get things set up for a small concert Darren was having. It was just him, a keyboard player, and another guitarist. After helping the keyboardist find the right key for the song (can't remember what song... nothing I associate with Darren normally), he turned his attention to the audience. I was already standing off to the side sort of swaying like a moron (along with some other folks from the audience), and he seemed pretty happy that everybody was getting into it already. He actually stopped to dance briefly with me and a couple of the other girls. And, yes, that's really all there was to the dream. It was brief, not terribly exciting, and left me assured that today will be a good day because in my dream? Darren Criss held onto my hips. What else does a girl really need?

Cuddling

I wish I could remember most of the dream, but the highlight? Sitting and watching a concert (it was like preschool - everyone was sitting on the floor in front of the stage) and cuddling with Darren Criss. No clue why it was happening, no clue why I was so sure Wes wouldn't mind, but it was a hell of a lot of fun. And, really, if I'm only going to remember one thing about a dream, that's the thing to remember.

New Territory

Last night I dreamt that Wes and I bought the Baker Hotel in Mineral Wells, TX. I've been lucky enough to go in there a few times, and it's an amazing building and one I'd love to renovate if I happened to be rich.

Apparently in the dream, we were rich - or at least close enough. We installed proper gates and stuff to keep people out and were planning to live in a few offices on the lower floor (which don't exist in reality) until the place was renovated. Unfortunately there were tours going through still, and they wouldn't listen when I told them to get the hell out of my hotel.

Still, apart from that annoyance, the excitement of looking at the renovation and trying to figure out what we could salvage and what needed to be redone was super exciting. Here's to hoping someone actually does it someday!

Small sidenote: I have taken lots of Baker photos, and you can find prints of some of them for sale at Wilde Designs.

Teenage Dream

Obviously I've been having trouble remembering a lot of dreams clearly lately, but last night, I got lucky.

I'm not sure if it was discussing my celebrity list over dinner or having a Glee marathon with my sister (culminating in "Never Been Kissed" just before bed), but despite being a short dream, last night's was definitely a good one. My sister and husband and I were on vacation in New York staying in a nice hotel. No idea why we were there or what was up, but they said they had a surprise for me... and in walks Darren Criss. The picture left is the one that set off my mental image for the dream: glasses, scarf (gray scarf with a green jacket in my dream, if it matters to you), winter coat. And for some reason I had absolutely no qualms about walking straight up and hugging him.

I'd love to say there was fascinating, interesting stuff that happened after, but Pike woke up, and mommy action trumped sleeping. Still, it was sweet and cute and nice. I'll take it!

The Dangers of Fan Fiction aka Blaine is Captain Jack

Okay, so last night I learned why it's probably not a good idea to read Torchwood fan fiction AND Glee fan fiction right before bed. This is the first dream I've remembered clearly enough to post about in quite awhile.

It started off pretty incredibly depressing. Blaine had been in a car crash and died and Burt was bringing Kurt to the morgue to see him. His parents were already there, crying and depressed and... yeah. There was a long, depressing good-bye scene that kind of broke my little 'shipper heart and Kurt and his dad turned to leave.

And all of a sudden Blaine sucks in a breath and sits up on the slab. Somehow, just like Captain Jack Harkness, Blaine had become a fixed point in time, unable to die. So the Doctor (Elven, specifically because OBVIOUSLY) shows up to try and find out what's happened and tries to get Blaine to travel with him. Blaine naturally doesn't want to leave Kurt, but he also doesn't want to take Kurt along and have him not finish school and stuff and... then my baby woke up crying and I never did find out what was up with all that. If I had any theories, I'd write a fic of my own to work it all out.

School Days

School supplies, originally uploaded by Crayons to Computers.

I don't recall the specifics, but I had my first school anxiety dream that I've had in years last night. I think I'm nervous on my sister's behalf since she starts college tomorrow. All I remember is that it was the first day and I still hadn't figured out where my classes were - which she already did well ahead of time. Hopefully she'll have far more fun than I did in my dream!

Narrow Escapes

Creepy old house, originally uploaded by CaptnMom.

My dream last night was exhaustingly elaborate. It started with my mom and sister and I going to this old house for a tour. It was supposed to be haunted and was a cool place. There was sort of a complex of old houses together and even a small theater that they held little improv shows in.

Somehow I had been there before and knew that there was something wrong with the "package" deal they offered to stay overnight. Before I could warn mom, she signed us up. I was nervous but finally said okay since it would take a long time to get home and it would be easier not to have to drive.

The first part of the night was a sort of burlesque show thing in the theater that reminded me a lot of the environment at Rocky. It was a lot of fun and put me at ease. When we went back to the house to get ready for the dinner they offered, I started getting really edgy. Part of the "story" or whatever of being an overnight guest was that the people who worked there would sneak into people's rooms and steal things using a series of secret passages and panels and stuff. I finally got way too freaked and told mom we had to leave. She said that was fine but that she'd promised to help the older lady that owned the place with something first.

I reluctantly agreed to wait a little longer. I stayed in our room and got all our things together because I didn't want something to get taken and us have to stay longer just to get it back. After awhile, mom still hadn't come back, so I took our backpacks and went downstairs calling for her. The employees - who had already started the formal dinner for the guests - told me she was still talking to the lady. I asked where my sister was and they said she was outside. Everyone was acting very polite, but it was a creepy, strained politeness.

Eventually (I can't recall how), I found Kathy and we realized by then (the people weren't pretending to be nice anymore and they were trying to chase us) we had to get out whether we could find mom or not. They'd managed to box our car in when we tried to drive off, so we ended up running on foot down this crazy, scary, complex network of roads looping over and under each other. We finally found a spot to get off the road and cut through into a swampy area.

On the way through, we found another guy who was running from the people at the house. Together we all managed to evade them and eventually get back to down. It was supposed to be the town where my mom and sister live, but it was different. The guy went his own way and we went to our grandma's house. While there we saw strange pictures (they weren't home yet) and realized that she and my uncles were somehow in league with the people at the house. We high-tailed it out of there and back to mom's house, which was very different from her real one.

We were completely freaked out and had no idea what to do. We were both terrified of where mom might be and how to get her out and somehow I was worried that Wes would go there or had already gone there. Unfortunately I woke up before the mysteries could be solved. Maybe tonight it will be Kathy and I to the rescue.
